Daily Prompt A to Z

Create a short story, piece of memoir, or epic poem that is 26 sentences long, in which the first sentence begins with “A” and each sentence thereafter begins with the next letter of the alphabet.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us ORDERLY.

A hot summer’s day.

Barely the wind blows.

Calm before the storm clouds drop rain.

Dog days of summer in Florida.

Everything drips with sweat!

Forgetting winter, what a dream.

Getting through the day without A/C!

Humid, sticky, I grab another ice tea

I languish in my comfy porch chair hoping for a breeze.

Just in time the rain starts to fall

Knives, the rain slices through the dense air.

Letting drops fill crevices

Marrying the sand

Nothing loves the rain more than the cicadas or me

Only we seem to notice the drop in the temperature

Possibly the birds bathing in the puddles

Quiet afternoon looming over the upcoming evening

Restless but content

Soul stirs and mind is awake

Typing on wordpress and sharing on facebook

Until dinner time nears

Valuable time of introspection

Willfully passing slowly

Zen like intuition says “Enjoy the day!”
