Smart Goals

This page will be dedicated to my SMART goal lists. These are the things directly reflecting my 2013 Bucket List and of course any other whims I think about and want to succeed in doing before I die. Hummm… I plan on living to at least 95 years old, so I have 50 years! WHOOP!

This notion is taking from the book by M.J. Ryan, This Year I will….

The chapter is titled: Create a SMART Goal

The Quote is : Goals are dreams with deadlines. ~ Diana Scharf Hunt

SMART = Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time -Bound

Specific refers to something you can pin down. Examples given are; Learning the guitar is specific, becoming a better person is not.

Measurable is something that is capable of being measured. Measurement is crucial because it makes our progress visible to us.

Relevant means something matters to you. If you don’t have a really good reason for doing this thing, it’s too easy to drop it.

Time- Bound refers to creating a time in the future when you will be “done”. When you get to the end of the time you have to complete your goal, you can sign on again if need be.
